Germany’s capital is famous for many things. Less known, but still important for active tourists, are Berlin’s swimming pools – and there are plenty of them!
Berlin’s Oldest Swimming Pool
The “Alte Halle” (Old Hall) is located in the heart of Berlin’s Charlottenburg district. Berlin’s oldest swimming pool captivates with its very special charm. Built in the Art Nouveau style, the pool has been a protected monument since 1982.
Swimming in Kreuzberg
The Bad am Spreewaldplatz is located in the Kreuzberg district, right next to Görlitzer Park, and is particularly suitable for families. With its various pools, a water slide, and diving boards, fun is guaranteed. A day ticket for adults costs between 5.00 and 7.00 Euros.
Out in the Fresh Air
One of many outdoor pools is the Freibad Humboldthain, located in the park of the same name in Berlin’s Wedding district. The family rate is particularly affordable: two adults and up to five children pay a total of only 11.50 Euros.
Berlin’s Longest Water Slide
The Stadtbad Lankwitz houses the longest water slide in the German capital: you’ll whiz down a full 60 meters into the cool water! The pool also offers several whirlpools, two diving boards, four different saunas, and a plunge pool.
Pure Relaxation at Liquidrom – Right on Our Hostel’s Doorstep
The Liquidrom is hardly comparable to the other pools. At its center is a large domed hall with a warm saltwater pool, illuminated in the dark by moonlight filtering through the ceiling windows. The Liquidrom is located in Berlin’s Kreuzberg district and can be reached via the “Anhalter Bahnhof” stop – it’s only about 200 meters from the Three Little Pigs Hostel.
