At the Ramones Museum Berlin, the world’s only one of its kind, you have the chance to learn all about the legendary punk rock band. It’s in the same district as our Three Little Pigs Hostel, so it’s quick and easy to get to.
This unique museum is run by Florian Hayler, who has been working as a music journalist for years. He received a good part of the exhibits on display personally from members of the Ramones. So it’s no surprise that many of them are one-of-a-kind items you won’t find anywhere else in the world.
The exhibition
With the help of the exhibits, visitors can follow the band’s unique career; starting with their childhood and teenage years, the museum accompanies the musicians through to their first gigs. In the exhibition you can check out lots of unpublished photos, unusual merchandise, handwritten letters and lyrics, stage-worn clothing, tour posters, and music equipment too. The operators put the number of collected items at over 1,000.
After the exhibition, it’s worth visiting the attached café-bar. The museum and café are open 365 days a year, from 10 a.m. until the evening.
Address: Oberbaumstraße 5, just a few metres from the Schlesisches Tor underground station.
